Waterco Electroheat Ultra Heat Pump (Defrost)
Electroheat Ultra heat pumps are an energy efficient way to heat your pool and extend your swimming season. Compared to gas and electric heaters, Waterco Heat Pumps use a fraction of the energy to generate the same amount of heat and unlike solar heating; there is no reliance on the sun as the latent heat in the air is used.
Pool Heat Pumps will operate down to an ambient air temperature of 10°C, or 1° if fitted with hot gas deicing but with minimal heat output. To increase efficiency it is recommend that the heat pump is run during the warmest time of the day.
Waterco Electroheat Ultra heat pumps can heat your pool in colder climates when the ambient air temperature is above 0C° featuring hot gas de-icing and now are available in a 44kW heat pump for larger pools.
Generally swimming pool heat pump evaporators ice once ambient temperatures drop below 10°C, which negatively impacts on its heating performance. When ice forms on the Electroheat Ultra’s evaporator, the its refrigeration pipe configuration is automatically reconfigured to allow hot gas to melt the ice off its evaporator; the Electroheat Ultra then reverts back to heating your pool with maximum efficiency.
To prevent heat loss we recommend that a pool cover is installed. A pool without a cover will lose 2-3 times more heat than a covered pool. Pool covers also add solar energy and virtually eliminate evaporation and reduce heat loss by insulating the surface of the pool.
